Paz, belleza, silencio, absoluto encantamiento...

This year (2010) my breath was completely taken away two times when I stood in front of two incredible buildings, authentic pieces of art.

::: First time was in January in Agra City (India) :::
It was almost 2 PM and we walked with great excitement the 500 meters between our hotel and the complex. We passed by the front gardens and saw a big red gate, huge, really tall. Our eyes were not able to anticipate any view behind that massive arch.
I felt Onno's hand into mine and I pressed it while climbing the steps to cross the red gate. The tears appeared in my eyes in the very minute I could see it. There it was: white, magnificent, absolutely quiet in the horizon. My heart was overwhelmed by its beauty. I had seen many pictures and videos before getting to that point, but God, that landscape was painfully beautiful!
Peace, beauty, silence, absolute enchantment... I closed my eyes and open them again, slowly. It was real, I was there, right in front of marvelous Taj Mahal.

Onno's hand guided me forward to the fantastic gardens that coronate the glory of Taj Mahal. "Come, my love, let's get closer"

::: Second time was in July in Paris (France) :::
We took a couple of days on vacation and drove from Holland to Paris to camped 20 minutes far from the city.
-"So what's the plan? What do you want to go first?" - asked Onno during our first day in Paris.
-"I want to see the Tower, of course! FIRST the Tower!!! - replied Leti
And we took the subway in the direction of the Tower. But all of a sudden Onno grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the train 2 stations BEFORE the tower's one. Great was my disappointment when he suggested that we could walk a little bit in that area. He had to drag me (literally) to Trocadero because I was insisting in going straight to the Tower. We passed a big museum while walking towards an open area with a lot of people. I was still complaining when Onno push me towards an overwhelming view of the Eiffel Tower. He didn't tell me that form Trocadero you could have an amazing view of it, he just took me and pretended not to hear my complaints.
Again, my breath was taken away. The Tower was showing its beauty to me with a perfect blue sky as a background. Absolutely brilliant.

So what is the next breathtaking visit? A short trip to the moon?
I guess that I'm a little bit spoiled! :-)
